I had the privilege of working alongside Erin as a literacy coach, both when she was an amazingly brilliant and polished brand new teacher at Global Leaders and later when our paths crossed at August Martin, where she did her administrative internship and I worked with her on giving helpful feedback to teachers. She was a natural and had just the right approach that made people want to work with her to do their very best. I am stunned to learn of her loss but happy for her that she achieved her dream of becoming a wonderful and impactful principal. Her death is a huge loss for her school and for all the students and fellow educators she worked with. I used to share all her beautifully designed lesson and unit plans with other teachers in our network, since from day one she was stellar. She used to invite me with open arms into her classroom and let me hang out with her, when most new teachers were a little hesitant to share with a stranger who had possibly come into their classroom to judge them. She was confident, energetic, willing to experiment and loved her students so very much. We will not see her like again. My deepest sympathies to her family, partner and beloved friends.
