She was a little 5th grader, eager to play violin at the Duggan School where I was teaching beginning string players. She came out of class every week with a big grin and a "Listen to THIS" for me, as she played tunes I had assigned her and ones she had created herself. Making me laugh, making herself happy. Fast forward to her high school days, where she once again became my student. Eager to please, she practiced and became a leader in the Orchestra. Erin led the group by the time she was a senior, and was a strong contributor to our Chamber Music program. That mischievous smile, that perfectionism, that ray of light every day in rehearsal. That was Erin. Her eyerolls at her sister Meaghan in our rehearsals made me laugh, and when John began on cello, Erin was a drill sergeant with him - forcing him to practice so he wouldn't suck. He didn't suck. She loved her siblings and it showed. Erin was a leader, a compassionate soul, an awesome violinist. I am a better person for having had Erin in my life, if only briefly. Her memory lives on in my heart. I love you, Erin. -Nancy Wegrzyn
